Litchi & Lime was created to help young children build the thinking, emotional and social skills they need for everyday life โ€” through stories, play and meaningful conversations.

Designed especially for children aged 4+, our Little Grove adventures turn important developmental skills into experiences children can understand, enjoy and practise.

At the heart of Litchi & Lime are executive function and emotional intelligence. Through relatable adventures, Litchi and Lime encounter the kinds of challenges young children experience too โ€” big feelings, disappointment, changing plans, waiting, making choices, solving problems and trying again.

Instead of simply telling children what they should do, each adventure encourages them to THINK, FEEL and TRY.

๐Ÿง  THINK โ€” develop executive function skills such as self-control, flexible thinking, planning and problem-solving.

๐Ÿ’— FEEL โ€” recognise emotions, develop empathy and learn ways to manage big feelings.

๐ŸŒฑ TRY โ€” build confidence, perseverance and the courage to try another way.

Meet Litchi & Lime

Litchi and Lime are siblings growing and learning together in The Little Grove.

Litchi is caring, creative and adventurous. She loves discovering new things, helping others and expressing herself.

Lime is energetic, sporty and determined. He loves a challenge, solving problems and learning how to keep going when things don't work out the way he expected.

They have different strengths, different feelings and different ways of approaching problems โ€” just like real children.

More than just a story

Each Little Grove digital adventure combines an illustrated storybook, narrated read-along experience, playful learning activities, printable resources and guidance for grown-ups.

The resources are designed for parents, caregivers, and educators to use at home or in early childhood and early primary learning environments.

Most importantly, learning stays playful.

Because growing minds don't need to get everything right.

Sometimes they simply need a chance to stop, think, feelโ€ฆ and try again. ๐ŸŒฟ

The heart behind Litchi & Lime ๐ŸŒฟ

Litchi & Lime grew from my love of early childhood education and a simple belief: that some of the most important skills children develop through everyday experiences.

As an early childhood education lecturer and researcher, my work has focused on how learners develop the skills they need to think, learn and grow. My PhD research explored executive function โ€” the skills that help us plan, focus, manage emotions and behaviour, adapt and keep trying.

This knowledge inspired The Little Grove โ€” a playful world where Litchi and Lime learn that growing up isn't about getting everything right. It's about learning to think, understand feelings, make kind choices, adapt and try again.
